Please pass this note on to interested folks. This contact at the CDC is looking for doctors to go to Haiti as soon as next week:

Doucet, Marlie T. (CDC/CCHP/NCCDPHP) (CTR)

This physician has since learned that this effort is actually a highly collaborative effort that is not officially sanctioned by the CDC though some of the volunteers are indeed from the CDC.  Many of the pictures coming from their medical relief efforts in Port-au-Prince, Haiti do show a strong presence by Doctors w/o Borders, which is a relief organization that this HeartDoc has been supporting financially for many years.  Crush injuries and surgery for such traumatic injuries are not really this physician's forte, which is working on the heart.  Nonetheless, this HeartDoc has passport ready and will go to help perform amputations if called.
