Liz Frye is one of the community psychiatry fellows in Emory's Dept of Psychiatry. She and some other psychiatrists at Emory are putting together a work group aiming to help address the psychological needs of the Haitian community. They are at the point of needing help figuring out how to establish volunteer psychiatric services in Haiti, and how to best address their needs. They would like to partner with an organization that already has a presence in Haiti to determine the best logistical channels and how they can be most effective.

While the immediate emergency relief needs are essential and obvious at this point, Liz would like to begin structuring a way to help intervene in the area of psychiatry, where certainly there will continue to be much need associated with surviving such a traumatic experience.

If you have any suggestions on contacts or ideas relating to this venture, or if you would like to collaborate with Liz and this beginning stage group, please contact Liz at lefrye@gmail.com.
