Hello Humanity ... Be hungrier, which really is wonderfully healthier because it is the IMVC (International Medical VAT Cure)

A typical closing conversation between HeartDoc Andrew and a neighbor that he's just met:

Neighbor: "Nice talking to you. Goodbye."

HeartDoc Andrew: "Be hungrier, which really is wonderfully healthier because it is the IMVC :-)"

Neighbor: "What is IMVC?"

HeartDoc Andrew: "Here, it stands for International Medical VAT Cure."

Neighbor: "What is VAT?"

HeartDoc Andrew: "VAT is that terribly bad inside belly fat that cause heart attacks and strokes."

Neighbor: "Where can I find this on the Internet?"

HeartDoc Andrew: "Simply Google IMVC or just go to IMVC.org and look for the article titled Wonderfully Hungrier :-) in the Health Education and Wellness section."

Neighbor: "I will do it. Thanks!"

HeartDoc Andrew: "Laus Deo :-)"

Neighbor: "You too."

HeartDoc Andrew (Looking up): "YOU too :-)"

Neighbor: "Do you have a business card?"

HeartDoc Andrew: "No, just a medical volunteer."

Neighbor: "Ok, let me get a pen and piece of paper to write that down. INBC?"

HeartDoc Andrew: "No, I for International because it is an international problem. M for medical because it is a medical problem. V for VAT, which sounds like fat because it is terribly bad inside belly fat that causes heart attacks and strokes. And, C for cure because being wonderfully hungrier does really cure it :-)"

Neighbor: "Ok, IMVC.com"

HeartDoc Andrew: "No, IMVC.org because we are a volunteer organization kind of like the Peace Corps."

Neighbor: "Really?"

HeartDoc Andrew: "Yes, people without the resources to join both the Peace Corps **and** go to medical school join us instead :-)"

Neighbor: "Wow"

HeartDoc Andrew: "Be hungrier, which really is wonderfully healthier because it is the IMVC :-)"

Neighbor: "You too."

HeartDoc Andrew (smiling): Peaceful Christmas !!!

Many of the volunteers who are helping with organizing are in nonprofits or humanitarians!

Yes, Charlotte :) Non-profits and humanitarians really don't have the resources to both join the Peace Corps **and** go to medical school at the same time :)

So who should join IMVC.org ?

HeartDoc Andrew had the following conversation with Joaquin, who is co-owner of Amazing Cakes Bakery in Mableton with his wife Tanya looking on (They are celebrating their 7th year now at their current storefront) ...

Andrew: "Hmmmm, smells wonderful in here so that this physician is wonderfully hungrier :-) How are you?"

Joaquin: "Fine :-)"

Andrew: "Hope your 'fine' means you are hungry too."

Joaquin: "Yes."

Andrew: "That's wonderful because now this HeartDoc can tell you that you are not dying from a silent heart attack :-)"

Joaquin (smiling): "That really is wonderful :-) HeartDoc Andrew, what can I get for you today?"

Andrew: "Would like to order a cake with 'Happy Birthday Jesus' written on the top :-)"

Andrew: "Be hungrier, which really is wonderfully healthier because it is the IMVC."

Joaquin: "What is IMVC?"

Andrew: "Here it stands for International Medical VAT Cure. Remember, VAT is that terribly bad inside belly fat that causes heart attacks and strokes. You can learn more about this at IMVC.org."

Joaquin: "Let me write that down."

Customer: "Doc, how much do you charge for a consultation?"

Andrew: "We charge $750.00 for the initial consultation however there is typically also an EKG that is done for $250.00 so it usually starts at $1000.00.  However, we are teaching folks about curing their VAT gratis at IMVC.org :-)"

Customer: "I'm going to check it out"

Dear IMVC Friends,

Being hungrier is really unbelievably wonderful because none of us, in our heart, want to be hungry much less hungrier.  This is why no one can believe it when we say we are "Wonderfully hungry" or when we wish them to "Be hungrier, which really is wonderfully healthier because it is the IMVC."

Instead of changing beliefs, which reside in the heart, we change minds by convincing them with both mathematical and medical proofs:

May you have a Peaceful Christmas,

HeartDoc Andrew extends a warm invitation to you, who are reading this to sign up as a member of IMVC.org. It's free&easy and there is no obligation to serve as a medical volunteer.  None of us really want to be volunteers... we just do it when we strongly know its the right thing to do when we aren't seeing others stepping up to do it.  This is the true Spirit of Medical Volunteerism. There usually is neither thanks nor glory and even when there is, we deny it in order to humble ourselves. We are the few, the humbled, the medical volunteers :). We are wonderfully hungrier because it is the IMVC :)

Dear IMVC friends,

As illustrated in this picture from one of our planning meetings, children are welcome to also attend. They are teaching us that we really need to convince their parents to say they are "wonderfully hungry" whenever greeted and to wish others to "be hungrier, which really is wonderfully healthier because it really is the IMVC" so that their parents would start having the mind-power to stop overfeeding them so that they would become healthier (i.e. no more childhood obesity and/or type-2 diabetes).

Dear IMVC friends,

We are planning to meet up with DocNeil (aka the real Doc Hollywood pictured here) and other fantastically humanitarian people at the next planning meeting scheduled (please see our calendar) for next Sunday (01/09/10) from 2-4 pm EST in Conference Room 208 of the White Hall building on the Emory University Campus (please see map at our calendar). We, who are humanitarians, enjoy having children around to also contribute (see picture above) as many recognize DocNeil from his "What's in a Doctor's Bag" shows on PBS. The conference room easily seats hundreds so we typically have plenty of space at each of our meetings and HeartDoc Andrew enjoys staying afterwards to answer questions about how to be wonderfully hungrier.

A conversation between HeartDoc Andrew and a friend who has stopped smoking:

Doctor: "How are you?"

Patient: "Wonderfully hungry :)"

Doctor: "Me too:D Ok, why is being hungry wonderful?"

Patient:" Well, for me, it's when I'm hungry that I really know that I haven't been smoking and we all know that not smoking really is wonderful:)"

Doctor: "Very Cool personal proof why being hungry really is wonderful. May your physician publish this on the I'M Very Cool IMVC.org web site at Emory?"

Patient: "You have my permission."

Doctor: "Laus Deo"

A closing conversation between HeartDoc Andrew and a banker:

Banker: "What about the stuff people put in food that makes us hungrier?"

Doctor: "We call it love. Moms really know how to do this so that we really can eat a lot more of the food that our mom cooks for us. Isn't love wonderful?"

Banker: "Yes."

Doctor: "Thus, we also have the additional proof that being hungrier is wonderful because it happens when there is love."

Banker: "But this makes us overeat."

Doctor: "Not when we are carrying our food scale to mom's house and are using it so that when we reach 32 oz, we can stop eating without hurting mom's feelings. Yes, our food scale ... never leave home without it. Be hungrier, which really is in fact wonderfully healthier, which really is Very Cool as explained by HeartDoc Andrew at the I'M Very Cool IMVC.org web site at Emory."

Banker: "I'm definitely going to check it out."

Doctor: "Laus Deo ... Be hungrier, bye."

HeartDoc Andrew greeting a Christian friend:

Andrew: "How are you?"

Mike: "Good."

Andrew: "Remember, we shouldn't say we're good for it is written at Matthew 19:17 that only GOD is good."

Mike: "May the LORD help me because I have been practicing saying 'Wonderfully hungry' in hopes of saying that instead of 'good' as we talked about this last week."

Andrew: "It is our heart that would have us forget to say 'wonderfully hungry' because in our heart none of us want to be hungry much less hungrier. Simply truthfully saying 'wonderfully hungry' when greeted does make us hungrier so that is something we really never want to do."

Mike: "I am learning this to be so very true."

Andrew: "All glory to Him. Be hungrier, bye."
