All Activities to take place in the Dobbs University Center (DUC) (605 Asbury Circle, Emory University, Atlanta, GA 30322) in the Faculty Dining Room & Terraces (on the basement level across from post office)

 
 
 
Workshops / Performances:

SAT. APRIL 14th // 11am – 5pm 

11-11:45am - Cheryl Crawford - Founder of Grounded Yoga for Children

1-1:45pm - Mark Poole – Drumming

Mark Poole has been a hand drummer for 20 years, working with children and special needs adults with the goal of self-awareness and peace through music. 

2-2:45pm - Sharon Mnich – International Clapping Games / Worldplay toy workshop 

FunClapping: Clap, Sing, Rhyme, Play, laugh, bond and have fun! This will be fresh and new to youngsters and remind parents and grandparents of of all the old favorites (Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mac, Double Double, Say Say oh Playmate....).

Learn clapping games the kids today are doing on playgrounds and at recess everywhere.  This organization aims to collect videos, words, and instructions to as many hand clapping games and songs as we can from every corner of the world. For the young and the young and the young at heart!

3-3:45pm - Thomas Vinton / Flo Olivier-Vinton - French Immersion Music Activity: Fun Music and Kid Activities 

Muse Circle provides music and movement classes for children from birth to age 12. Led by Thomas "Mr. V." Vinton and Flore Olivier-Vinton, the company promotes body-centered enrichment activities as a central vehicle for positive change in the world. During their workshop, children of all ages and their families are invited to interact with one another while singing, playing the body as an instrument, moving creatively and acting out a story.  Participants can also learn about Muse Circle classes they can take, including Mr. Eric's and Mr. Michael's The Learning Groove (music and movement for toddlers), improvisational arts classes, French immersionand an electric kids' band that meets in a state-of-the-art recording studio.

4-4:45pm - Jerylann Warner / Gathering Wild Dance Company – Special GHHS    Performance: A dance performance followed by a fun kid-oriented movement program

Gathering Wild is a Decatur-based dance company that seeks to showcase dance performance and education as a unique vehicle for expressing human themes and experiences.  A palpable pulse to Gathering Wild dance is the leadership’s keen crafting of exercises that conjoin movement and meaning.  Come enjoy a reflective and fun awareness- building movement session with Artistic Director, Jerylann Warner, that includes a brief performance by Gathering Wild dancers!

5-5:45pm - CMM Global Radio A Musical Concert performed by Children / Young Performers


Karen Clarke/Flint P. Fleming Jr. Arts Foundation - Founder of CMM Global

 

- Radio is highlighting "Culture Infusionism" and recognize that self-hate manifests into outward conflict with others, thereby learning and understanding yourself through Culture will evolve to cohesiveness.  The Global Infusion performance by youth is the beginning in understanding yourself and others.

1–1:45pm - Julie Austin – Fandagumbo Concert: Fun music and moment with    kids  

JULIE AUSTIN: Musician and early childhood educational consultant delights audiences across the states with her popular songs and early childhood workshops. In live performances she encourages her audience to sing, move, and dance throughout the concert. Julie also uses sign mime (a combination of sign language and gestures) which gets everyone involved.

2-2:45pm - TerraTonz & Muse for Life

Creators of Sacred Musical Instruments and Sensory Learning Instructors Unite to Deliver an Interactive Performance Incorporating Song, Dance, Meditation and Art.

3-3:45pm - Howie “THE GREAT” Marmer – Magic  

 

Howie "The Great" - A professional magician whose achievements include performances in corporate trade show booths, corporate events, product launch meetings, Vegas style illusion shows, post-game entertainment, restaurant and entertainment venue magic, comedy clubs, school performances, bar and Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, adult & children's parties, and specialized magic for every occasion.
